HOW THEY MET
tw for suicide.
After an unsuccessful suicide attempt, Tory (aka me!) ends up isekai'd in the Nu:Carnival universe in a fashion similar to the protag, Eiden. Confused, upset, and depressed, Tory ends up meeting the other crystal holders, finding one of their own implanted in their back, albeit cracked and dim compared to the others'.
Kuya and Tory meet during the first White Day event. Tory is tasked with finding flowers for the café's opening-- little did they know, the foxtail in the forest aren't exactly wild.
Their initial meeting is rocky, but Kuya picks up on Tory's apathy for their own life. Something about that feels...familiar, and despite their rough start, Kuya ends up feeling a bit soft for Tory.
The usual antidepressants aren't really available in this new world, but residents of the mansion are determined to make something that'll help. With Tory's damaged crystal, however, time is ticking-- only someone very experienced with essence is able to fix it, at a blow to their own powers, temporarily.
And so, Kuya ends up stepping forward, sealing the cracked gemstone and flooding it with essence via touch, but at a cost; he is turned back into a little fox and cannot turn back until his full power is restored!
Being rather weak, Tory takes Kuya to his home in the forest, and takes care of him there until his powers are returned to him. They've been close ever since.
HOW IT'S GOING
It's rare to find the two apart from each other. Despite Kuya's incessant teasing and spicy general attitude, Tory has certainly learned a few comebacks to keep the fox on his toes. And he seems to like it that way.
Although most of their affection is private, even Kuya has warmed up to PDA, showing signs of possessiveness and jealousy at times. Tory likes feeling special, so no problems there.
Kuya has said quite a few times, in various ways, that he plans on making Tory a yokai when he's ready. Tory is a little hesitant, but the thought of Kuya being alone ever again hurts too much to bear. Therefore, even though Tory isn't quite ready to give up mortality, he is set on becoming a yokai, so that Kuya never has to feel loneliness ever again.

HOW THEY MET
Once Netaro's café opened, demand for his dumplings boomed to astronomical levels! Although his secrets stay in his kitchen, an extra hand to run the front and wait tables was definitely needed.
Tori, a chronic job-hopper and nightlife junkie, applied without thinking much about it-- until they were called in for an interview! Upon seeing how Tori's fashion sense immediately fit in with Café 369's aesthetic, they were hired on the spot!
Although...one of the requirements was being able to rollerblade, and Tori's not exactly the most nimble on their feet. It took a lot of practice-- and quite a few injuries-- but now, Tori can almost go a whole shift without falling! Almost.
As time went on, Tori began to grow feelings for Netaro; despite how strange he was, he was one of the nicest people they've ever met, and they couldn't get those feelings out of their head.
For Netaro, so desperately wishing to fall in love, to find his "Beatrice," he couldn't help but feel...odd, around Tori. A way he'd never felt before.
